Privacy Policy for Lucky Charm
Effective Date: September 20, 2026
Last Updated: September 20, 2026
Lucky Charm ("we", "our", or "us"), published by RAJESH KUMAR ARUMUGAM (ArksLab), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how our Android application, Lucky Charm (com.arkthepro.luckycharm), handles user data, permissions, third-party services, and user rights.
1. Overview of Data Collection
Lucky Charm is designed to provide a serene, digital charm sanctuary with optional floating charms, interactive animations, and daily positive energy.
We do not collect, store, or sell any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical location on our own servers.
2. Local Storage (Jetpack DataStore)
Lucky Charm uses Android Jetpack DataStore to store application preferences locally on your device:
- Selected charm preferences & unlocked charm status
- Floating charm position, corner offsets, size, and thread color
- Sound, haptic feedback, and animation settings
- Ad-Free pass timestamps and rating prompt preferences
All local preferences remain 100% on your device and are never uploaded to any developer-managed cloud server.
3. Third-Party Services
To support app features, monetization, and in-app billing, Lucky Charm integrates standard, trusted Google Play services:
A. Google AdMob (Google LLC)
- Purpose: Displays Banner Ads, Interstitial Ads, and Rewarded Video Ads (e.g., for 24-Hour Ad-Free Passes or temporary charm unlocks).
- Data Collected by AdMob: Google AdMob may automatically collect coarse location, device identifiers (advertising ID), app interaction data, and diagnostic logs to deliver advertisements and prevent fraud.
- Privacy Policy: Google Privacy & Terms | AdMob Privacy Info
B. Google Play Billing API (Google LLC)
- Purpose: Processes in-app purchases for individual charms and Lifetime Ad-Free access.
- Data Handling: All transaction processing, payment information, and financial data are handled exclusively and securely by Google Play. We do not receive, process, or store your credit card, bank, or payment details.
- Privacy Policy: Google Play Terms of Service
C. Google Play In-App Review API (Google LLC)
- Purpose: Prompts users for app ratings and feedback within the app.
- Data Handling: Governed by Google Play Store guidelines; ratings are submitted directly to Google Play.
4. Android System Permissions
A. Display Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW)
- Purpose: Allows the floating lucky charm to hang gracefully over other apps on your screen.
- Privacy Guarantee: This permission is strictly used for rendering local charm graphics on screen overlay. It does not capture screen content, record user activity, or access data from other apps.
B. Post Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS - Android 13+)
- Purpose: Used optionally to deliver scheduled reminders for daily charm energy or floating charm service state.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR Compliance)
Lucky Charm does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). Third-party ad services (Google AdMob) are configured in accordance with Google Play Families Policy and COPPA guidelines.
6. User Choice & Data Erasure
You have full control over your data:
- Clearing App Data: You can wipe all stored preferences at any time by going to Android Settings > Apps > Lucky Charm > Storage > Clear Data.
- Uninstalling: Uninstalling the app completely removes all locally stored preferences from your device.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in app features, legal compliance, or Google Play policies. Any updates will be posted here with a revised "Effective Date".
